Holocaust remembrance in focus at OSCE Permanent Council meeting tomorrow
VIENNA, 21 January 2015 – Holocaust remembrance will be the focus of the next meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council tomorrow, Thursday 22 January 2015, in light of the upcoming International Holocaust Remembrance Day (27 January).
Sir Andrew Burns, Chair of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, and Ambassador Roksanda Ninčić, State Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and Head of the Serbian Delegation to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, will address the Permanent Council.
Following the meeting of the Permanent Council, tentatively at 12:30, the Israeli Permanent Mission to the OSCE will hold an exhibition outside the Neuer Saal, entitled “A Monument of Good Deeds - Dreams and Hopes of Children during the Holocaust”. The interactive exhibition is dedicated to the children who perished in the Holocaust and their legacies.
Media representatives are invited to attend the addresses of both Ambassador Roksanda Ninčić and Sir Andrew Burns on Thursday, 22 January, at 10:00 in the Neuer Saal of the Hofburg Congress Centre. Please note that the remainder of the Permanent Council meeting will be closed to media.
Media representatives are also welcome to attend to the exhibition organized by the Israeli Permanent Mission, which will take place outside the Neuer Saal, tentatively at 12:30.
