Young people in Kosovo embrace diversity during OSCE organized camp
The OSCE Mission in Kosovo organized an inter-faith youth camp in Brod village, Dragash/Dragaš municipality, for 30 young people from different communities in Kosovo from 12 to 14 October 2015.
The youth camp was organized to encourage tolerance and mutual respect among young people and was used as an opportunity for young Kosovo Albanians, Kosovo Serbs, Kosovo Roma, Kosovo Ashkali, and Kosovo Egyptians to embrace diversity by getting to know each other better.
The participants visited different religious and cultural heritage sites in Prizren town, including the Serbian Orthodox Church Saint George, Sinan Pasha Mosque and the Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, and met with the local religious leaders. Participants were also involved in interactive discussions on religion, and also discussed gender equality and role of women in religions.
This youth camp, running for its third year, is a part of a wider OSCE Mission in Kosovo activity to promote inter-faith dialogue and tolerance. Two previous youth camps took place in April 2015 in Kamenicë/Kamenica town and in August 2015 in Prishtinë/Priština, with more than 40 young people participating in these activities.
