OSCE Mission to Skopje signs Memorandum of Understanding with Bitola Municipality
The OSCE Mission to Skopje and Municipality of Bitola signed a Memorandum of Understanding on raising capacities of the Local Youth Council on 25 August 2015 in Bitola.
The MoU was signed by the Mayor of Bitola, Vladimir Taleski, and the Acting Head of the OSCE Mission to Skopje, Ambassador Marianne Berecz, in presence of the Bitola Local Youth Council representatives.
“We strongly believe that these activities are a step towards a bigger and more effective youth participation in the society,” said Berecz. “By giving young people a chance to participate in the decision making process we are consequently creating stronger and more inclusive communities.”
The co-operation with Bitola municipality is part of the Supporting Youth Policy Institutions and Structures project, aiming to actively involve the youth councils in the decision-making processes.
The Mission, in co-operation with the Center for Intercultural Dialogue and Youth Educational Forum identified three local youth councils from Centar Municipality in Skopje, Kichevo and Bitola to which the Mission will provide the training in accordance with their needs, and assist in creation and implementation of local youth policies.
