OSCE Mission to Skopje organizes study visit for students as part of 40th anniversary of the Helsinki Final Act
The OSCE Mission to Skopje hosted 22 students from five different universities in the country during a study visit to the Mission’s premises on 26 March 2015. The visit was an opportunity for the students to learn more about the OSCE, Skopje Mission’s mandate and programmes.
The students had an opportunity to discuss the activities of Mission’s Human Dimension, and Public Safety and Community Outreach Departments. They also visited the premises of the OSCE supported Training Centre in Idrizovo.
“The Helsinki Final Act, signed in 1975, paved the way for erasing dividing lines between East and West, and contributed to the end of the Cold War,” said Acting Head of the OSCE Mission to Skopje, Ambassador Marianne Berecz. “The Helsinki Process is a very important lesson to all of us, a lesson that teaches us to deal with the issues through dialogue and co-operation rather than conflict and tensions.”
The study visit is the first in a series of activities planned by the Mission to mark the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Helsinki Final Act.
