Video message on the occasion of International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists

In 85 % of the more than 400 cases of killed journalists in the last 25 years in the OSCE region, those responsible for these crimes have not been arrested or prosecuted. On the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists, the Representative on Freedom of the Media, Harlem Désir, says that there can be no tolerance for those who attack journalists and he calls on all States, civil society, law enforcement and police to join forces to defend free and independent journalists and to protect the free press as a pillar of our own freedom and of democracy.
