Addressing Sexual Violence in the Armed Forces: A Practical Guide
This publication seeks to provide guidance to military commanders and policymakers within ministries of defence and general staff of the armed forces on a trauma-informed and human rights-compliant response to sexual assault. It intends to unpack some of the prevailing myths surrounding sexual assault within the military and how these hinder effective reporting and, thus, the ability of military systems to address sexual violence. This guide also highlights key considerations necessary
for establishing trauma-informed policy and response within the military.
