Hosted at the 15th Venice Biennale in 2016, this exhibition - a photographic project of Gianfranco Ferraro - tells the story of the Calabrian village of Riace. Thanks to the impetus of its mayor Domenico Lucano, the village has welcomed and integrated thousands of migrants, counterbalancing its own depopulation and, thus, giving the local community new life and energy. A real experience that resembles to a fairy tale with a happy ending for children and adults: Riace is an inspiring model for the reception and integration of migrants and refugees.
The exhibition is jointly organized by the Italian Cultural Institute and OSCE as part of the AENEAS project with the support of the Italian 2017 OSCE Chairmanship of the Mediterranean Contact Group.
