OSCE Mission trains police on counter-terrorism investigation
An OSCE Mission in Kosovo-organized training course on advanced counter-terrorism investigation commenced on 21 February 2011. The one-week course is for 14 police officers, including four female officers, from Vushtrri/Vučitrn. Four experts from Turkey will train the officers on a wide range of issues related to countering terrorism and organised crime and the analysis of major crime trends.
The training programme, developed by the Counter-Terrorism Department of the Turkish National Police, will help the police officers to improve their skills in conducting interviews and collecting evidence as well as to expand their knowledge of the operation and investigation process.
The course includes sessions on human rights and criminal psychology. The officers will also take part in practical sessions on searching vehicles and premises, and holding suspects after apprehension.
A ceremony on the completion of the course will take place on at 11.00am on Friday 25 February 2011, in the gym centre of the Kosovo Centre for Public Safety, Education and Development in Vushtrri/Vučitrn.
