Kosovo television presenters attend training in Austria
PRISTINA 28 September 2000
PRISTINA, 28 September 2000 - Six television presenters from Kosovo are undergoing intensive training in Austria this week as part of a joint initiative organised by the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF), the Austrian Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the OSCE Mission in Kosovo.
Four of the presenters work with the recently-launched private television stations, Koha Vision and RTV 21. The other two work with TV Vali in Gjilan / Gnjilane.
The group is being trained in a number of aspects of TV presentation: how to move in front of a TV camera, how to present news, how to make live presentations and how to deal with stress in live broadcast situations. All these elements are of particular importance as the stations prepare to cover the upcoming local elections.
Austria, which holds the Chair-in-office of the OSCE this year, is actively engaged in supporting Kosovo's developing media landscape, one of the key tasks delegated to the OSCE Mission here.
This weeks course, which continues until October 4th, is the second media training project organised and funded by Austria so far this year. In June, a group of radio journalists from Kosovo took part in a training course organized by ORF, OSCE and the Austrian Foreign Ministry.
