Migration and Human Trafficking: A practical approach to tackling labour and sexual exploitation
21 December 2016
In November 2016, the first exercise of the ambitious OSCE project Combating Human Trafficking along Migration Routes took place at the Carabinieri-run Centre of Excellence for Stability Police Units (CoESPU) in Vicenza, Italy. Over 50 law enforcement officials, prosecutors, lawyers, labour inspectors, financial investigators and civil society representatives participated in an intensive simulation exercise. Using reality-based scripts acted out by actors, the exercise included a financial investigation component, aiming to put an end to perpetrator impunity and dismantling complex criminal organizations.
