OSCE Security Days
The OSCE has traditionally been active in promoting initiatives and creating platforms for many different forms of dialogue at various levels as a means of countering misperceptions, decreasing tensions, preventing conflict and promoting stability across the OSCE area.
Launched in 2012 by the then Secretary General of the OSCE, Lamberto Zannier, OSCE Security Days gather prominent experts from government, think tanks and academic institutions, civil society, youth, and media, to engage with each other and with the OSCE participating States and Partners for Co-operation in an informal and interactive discussion on 21st-century security threats and challenges.
OSCE Security Days look at select security issues from many different viewpoints in line with the OSCE’s comprehensive approach to security and in keeping with the diversity of contexts in the OSCE area and neighbouring regions. They are intended as a platform for sharing experience and good practices, and offer an opportunity to examine emerging trends and priorities for action.
